About the artist
I am a visual artist based in Seattle. My upbringing was in India and I taught mathematics as a university instructor before quitting to pursue art fulltime. I paint portraits, landscapes and am currently working on a body of work inspired by Sanskrit poetry.
Statement
My art is a journey of exploration, a quest to elevate the viewer's perception. I draw inspiration from Sanskrit poetry, its imagery, metaphors, and existential questions. My paintings are puzzles, invitations to ponder the deeper meaning of life, our connection to nature, and our role in society.
I celebrate the contributions of those who have shaped our world, and I highlight the fragility of the ecosystem we share. My landscapes are odes to the beauty and wonder of nature, while my portraits are tributes to the human spirit.
Through my art, I challenge viewers to see the world anew, to appreciate the cultural references woven into my work and to reflect on their own place in the universe. My goal is to ignite thought, inspire conversation, and spark a deeper appreciation for the world around us.
